Abstract:
Justice is the highest attribute in human history. The concept of ‘adl’ (justice) in Islam is a
fundamental principle that pervades all human behavior, and many verses of the Qur’an
describe the righteous conduct (‘adl’). The Qur'an is of the opinion that righteous conduct is the
inevitable basis of human life. On the contrary, justice is neglected in the practical life and the
injustice is prevailing everywhere. Therefore, this study aims to analyze how the judicial
guidelines of Islam were implemented in the Islamic history. Accordingly, this study examines
judicial role models who implemented and dispensed justice as per the teachings of Islam.
Finally, this study asserts that the justice is achievable in the practical life of everyone. As this
study is based on the qualitative method, it draws on the basic sources of Islam and historical
documents. This study can contribute to inculcate the exemplary behaviors propounded by the
Islamic text on social justice.
