dc.description.abstract Employees are the backbone of any organization. They are the most precious and important asset all the assets of any organizatron. Job stress is a part of employee life that should be consider very seriously. So, the employee job stress becomes one of the top priority issues in the banking industry. Therefore, the study aims to identify the level of job stress of bank managers in state and private banks in Sri Lanka with reference to Galle district. Managers and assistant managers who are working in Bank of Ceylon, Peoples bank, Commercial bank and Sampath bank in Galle district were the population of the study. Further study regression result highlighted statistically significant impacts of role ambiguity, role overload and role conflict on stress of managers in banking sector Sri Lanka. en_US
