Abstract:
In recent times, the introduction of family-friendly relationships has become a pressing
issue in many organizations. Management of diverse organizations wants its staff at all
phases to maximize thek efforts to the maximum, regardless of the cost to the
employees or other factors that affect their productivity. Organizations are expected to
offer a climate conducive to efficient and effective work force, both within and outside
the organization. This study cons$sts of the objectives are examine the nature of familyfriendly
human resource practice, workplace spirituality and organizational
commitment, to examine the relationship among family-friendly human resource
practice, workplace spirituality and organizational commitment, to examine the impact
of family-friendly human resource practice on organizational commitment and to
examine the workplace spirituality mediates the relationship between family-friendly
human resource practice on organizational commitment. Mainly the researcher has used
descriptive analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediation analysis to
achieve the objectives ofthis research study. This research study has been conducted
using 300 employees of garment industry in Trincomalee district.
According to the descriptive analysis Family-Friendly HR Practice, Workplace
Spirituality and Organizational Commitment had high level employees of garment
industry in Trincomalee district. Results indicate that according to the correlation
analysis there were strong positive relationships among Family-Friendly HR Practice
and Workplace Spirituality, among Family-Friendly HR Practice and Orgartizational
Commitment and among Workplace Spirituality and Organizational Commitment.
Furthermore, regression analysis showed that Family-Friendly HR Practice, Workplace
Spirituality significantly impact on Organizational Commitment. According to the
mediation analysis, the impact of Family-Friendly HR Practice on Organizational
Commitment is mediated by Workplace Spirituality.
