dc.description.abstract Sustainable leadership and organizational performance have gained significant attention in recent years, particularly in the banking sector. This study investigates the influence of sustainable leadership on the sustainable performance of selected banks in the Batticaloa District, Sri Lanka. Additionally, it examines the mediating role of organizational learning in the relationship between sustainable leadership and sustainable performance. The study employed a quantitative approach, collecting data through a structured questionnaire from 150 employees across seven selected banks in the Batticaloa District. The findings reveal that the levels of sustainable leadership, organizational learning, and sustainable performance are high among the employees of the selected banks. Furthermore, strong positive relationships exist among these variables. The results of the regression analysis indicate that sustainable leadership and organizational learning collectively account for 64.7% of the variability in sustainable performance. Notably, organizational learning partially mediates the influence of sustainable leadership on sustainable performance. The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge by narrowing the research gap in the Sri Lankan banking context regarding the impa8t of sustainable leadership on organizational performance. The findings highlight the importance of implementing sustainable leadership strategies and fostering organizational learning activities to enhance sustainable performance within the banking sector. Recommendations are provided for bank management to prioritize sustainable leadership practices and organizational learning programs to achieve long-term competitive advantage and deliver better services to customers. en_US
