dc.description.abstract Business and human activities are central to the debate on global environmental challenges. The banking industry stands out as a major player in the labor force within Sri Lankan industries and also its plays a crucial role in the country's economy. However, the banking industry/s facing the challenge of formulating a strategically sound approach that not only aligns with their business objectives but also significantly enhances organizational environmental performance. The implementation of human resource management digitalization can contribute significantly to improving organizational environmental performance. Employee digital technology adoption plays a vital role in shaping and nurturing the human resource management digitalization. We developed and tested a research model that investigated the mediating role of employee digital technology adoption on the relationship between human resource management digitalization and organizational environmental performance. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey method. Questionnaires were issued to 275 employees in selected banks in Batticaloa district. Among them, information from 238 respondents was analyzed. In this study, the statistical tools used to analyze the levels of variables, while relationships were measured by Pearson correlation, linear regressions for further mediation analyses. The result of the correlation analysis indicates that all the variables are positively related to the organizational environmental performance and the result of regression analysis shows that the factors in the research model explain 29.1% of the changes in the organizational environmental performance of selected banks in Batticaloa district. Research result shows that employee digital technology adoption (EDTA) mediates the relationship between human resource management digitalization (HRMD) and orgartizational environmental performance (OEP). Based on the research result researcher has made EDTA played an interactive role with HRMD and OEP. This research responds to multiple calls for research and advances the knowledge on HRMD and OEP. en_US
