dc.description.abstract Emotional intelligence (EI) has become a famrhar term among educators, counselors, and business leaders alike. Also, educational systems around the world have rapidly experiencing changes and reforms, impacting to teachers' job performance. Despite these changes, discussion on how to predict teachers' performance is complex and remains difficult to evaluate. The problem statement points out based on the past years result analysis of Zonal Education Department; the performance of the students in schools of Manmunai South and Eruvil Pattu Divisional Secretariat is poor. Therefore; this study mainly investigates the impact of emotional intelligence of teachers on their job performance from the perspectives of students in selected schools of Manmunai South and Eruvil Pattu Divisional Secretariat in Batticaloa. The study mainly considers the primary data. Data for this study have been collected using close ended questionnaires containing personal and research "related questions. Out of 316 questionnaires that have been distributed,305 are returned and the data analyzed by the aid of Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) 22.0 Version. The unilabiate and bivariate analysis techniques were used in order to analyze data and find the results of study objectives. At the same time, the results show that the Emotional Intelligence has positive impair r on Teachers' Job performance and significantly related with job performance. Furthermore, the dimensions of emotional intelligence such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management having high level contribution to determine the job performance. The findings of this study have significant practical implications. The result of this research is beneficial particularly for the educational sectors to consider the factors that can enhance the emotional intelligence of teachers to increase their job performances in selected schools of Manmunai South and Eruvil Pattu Divisional Secretariat in Batticaloa en_US
